CASE STUDY

A large international organisation invited us to contribute to their annual sustainability strategy day. The team was facing increasing uncertainty around regulation, climate risk, supply chains, societal expectations, and financial prioritisation, and wanted to optimise decision-making beyond short-term planning.

  • We designed and facilitated a futures literacy session as part of the day. The workshop introduced participants to different ways of thinking about the future, helping them recognise assumptions, explore multiple possible futures, and understand how today’s decisions shape longer-term outcomes.

    Through guided exercises and group dialogue, participants examined how external shifts could affect their sustainability priorities and where their current strategy could be re-examined.

  • The session helped the team step out of reactive thinking and consider a longer-term perspective. Participants reported being more open to different scenarios, feeling less constrained by existing strategy and operational planning, and gaining a renewed sense of agency in shaping the organisation’s sustainability direction.
